We are looking for an experienced Lead DevSecOps Engineer to lead and join our DevSecOps team. As a Lead DevSecOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in shaping and optimizing our DevSecOps strategies and practices. You will ensure that our infrastructure remains secure, up-to-date and efficient while guiding the team in implementing the latest technologies and best practices.
Team
Working hard together with a lot of fun, that is what we do. The IT department consists of around 35 highly motivated colleagues, which are working together into multiple smaller teams. A good atmosphere and sociability is very important within our organisation. You will lead one of those teams!

You are an experienced lead DevSecOps Engineer, proactive and results-oriented, a strategic thinker with a solution-driven mindset, strong at meeting deadlines, and have excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively. Your ambition is unstoppable and you continuously like to develop yourself into your field. You are used to work on complex applications in an informal atmosphere. You are good at your job and understand the principle of a healthy workload combined with fun and collegiality. Besides working hard, you are also in for a drink once in a while. You are coachable and know how to give others feedback. Together with your team leader, you will also work on your own development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the DevSecOps team and ensure progress on projects.
- Remove obstacles and support the team in their work.
- Proactively measure and communicate the progress and maturity of the team.
- Have in-depth knowledge of both the tools and technologies used in the business and other relevant technologies.
- Automation is a key goal within this role.
- Develop and improve strategies for the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Provide solutions to automatically manage documentation.
- Implement the latest industry trends and best practices.
- Develop self-service solutions for IT teams.
- Participate in the architecture and technical direction of the DevSecOps platform.
- Ensure quality assurance and adherence to standard best practices.
- Always ensure observability with relevant KPIs and clear information.
- Create, enhance and ensure appropriate security designs and implementations.
- Keep IT operations, tools and services up-to-date, secure and functional.
- Proactively prevent failures in systems through observability and alerts.
Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of Linux and Windows.
- Experience with Terraform, Ansible, and shell scripting.
- Knowledge of RabbitMQ and OpenSearch/Elastic.
- Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IAC) principles and patterns.
- Good knowledge of REST services and microservices architecture.
- Experience in planning and implementing failover and recovery strategies.
- Skill in configuration, maintenance and security of systems.
- Knowledge of NGINX (Load Balancer, Reverse Proxy, Web Server), DNS, networking and firewalls in data center and cloud environments.
- Good knowledge of databases, especially PostgreSQL.
